Ingredients:
- Tomatoes - 4 nos
- Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Pinch of turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Small onion -1
- Urad Dal -1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Green Chillies (Slit length wise) – 3 nos
- Pinch of Asafoetida
- Curry Leaves
Method:
1. Place the tomatoes in boiling water, until they are soft and mushy
2. Grind
the tomatoes into a smooth puree.
3. Heat
the oil in a cooking vessel, add all the ingredients (except the tomato puree).
4. Then,
add the tomato puree and a little water and cook on a low flame for 5 – 10
minutes.
Spicy tomato chutney is read to be served with Idly or Dosa.
